Formative Assessment: Asking questions and receiving answers from students, hand motions to check where everyone is, pre-quiz before the unit.

Assessments for learning- as the teacher to reflect and make sure you are doing what you can to help them learn.

Congruence with Instructional Outcomes
- Assessments must match up with the learning expectations along with the standards.
- As a teacher, making sure that each assessment has a purpose and a point to match up with standards that are required to know.
- Teacher clearly sets the expectations.
- Students contribute to criteria whenever possible.
- Telling the students what the expectations are and the point of the assessment. Maybe even letting them help pick what kind of questions on the assessment.
- Assessments are planned with purpose during the lesson.
- The results from the assessment is used by the teacher to see where they can go next and plan in practice for this lesson moving into the next one.
