Expectations for Learning
- The goals for learning should be communicated clearly with the students.
- Therefore at the end of lesson, students are clear about what they have learned.
- In my future classroom, I could write on the board or have on their desks what the goals of each lesson is.
- It is clear for students about what they are to do during a lesson, independently or with classmates.
- Directions can be given orally, in writing, or in some combination of the two.
- For little kids especially, I could repeatedly say the directions since they might not completely be able to read it depending on the age.
- Good teachers use vivid language and imaginative analogies and metaphors, connecting explanations to students interests and lives beyond school when explaining a concept to a student.
- Explanations are clear but there will still some be some student misconception.
- A teacher, to most students, is a model with their language and rich vocabulary.
- These models give the tools to students to build on their own language and vocabulary.
- I could really emphasize new words that I might use in the classroom that the students might not necessary know yet.

I could use Glow Notes in my classroom as a way to communicate with my students while also encouraging them. Especially with focusing on the positives.
