Quality of Questions/ Prompts
- The higher the quality of the question is the better the answer will be.
- When asking higher quality questions make sure there are fewer of them as well as giving the students a good amount of time to really think about it.
- When using for review the questions might be of a lower level.
- Teachers should promote learning through discussion.
- Discussion is Not explanation.
- Real discussion is when a teacher poses a question and invites all the students to discuss their thoughts while not having to be mediated by the teacher.
- As kids go through discussion they start to learn "their place", some take on the discussion and others tend to sit back and not share their thoughts.
- A teacher should use a technique to help ensure that all students are being involved in the discussion.
- I could do this by using desk pets as a way of reward for them participating.
